Puerto Princesa is Palawan's capital city.


Puerto Princesa is the entrence to the magnificent natural attractions of the island, and the center of government, commerce and trade.

You will also be surrounded by majestic white sand beaches, beautiful seas, mangrove swamps, and towering limestone cliffs.

Its hilly terrain is filled with trees and is habitat to variuos colorful wildlife and rare fish, flower and bird species such as the Palawan Pheasant Peacock and Philippine Cockatoo. The Palawan Peacock Pheasant is considered to be the most beautiful of the peacock species.

Puerto Princesa Palawan is well-known for its unique tourist attractions, most considerably for: Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, its crocodile farms and dive spots.

The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is a World Heritage Site. This natural wonder boasts an 8.2 kilometer navigable underground river, which is considered to be the longest in the world.

The river flows through a spectacular cave under rugged limestone and marble cliffs, and connects into the South China Sea.

Irawan Crocodile Farm in Puerto Princesca Palawan houses over a thousands of crocodiles including the two rarest crocodile species in the country - the Philippine crocodile and the saltwater crocodile - believed to have been around for more than 200 million years.

If you're seeking for more water sports adventure you can take a day trip to Honda Bay, where you'll find several islets with fabulous beaches and fascinating marine life.

Example of these beautiful islets are Crowie, Pandan, Bat Island, Lu-Li Island, Snake Island, Starfish Island and many more.

Each island is excellent for swimming, snorkelling and diving.

For a glance into Palawan's rich historical past, culture and heritage, don't dare miss the Puerto Princesa Palawan National Museum.

The museum displays rare archaeological and ethnological collections including jars, porcelain, hunting tools of by ancestral man; musical instruments, brassware and artifacts from Tabon Caves, and antique wares found in Cuyo that date back to the Spanish era.

A smaller collection of archeological artifacts and prehistoric diggings - fossils and crude tools of ancient man - are also on display at the Palawan State College Museum.

For an exhilarating encounter with Palawan tribes, make sure you visit the Tribal Ancestral Domain Claims of Cabayugan and Kayasan.

You will get to learn about the tribes' way of life, ad you'll also be treated to the awe-inspiring panoramic views of the Ulugan Bay and the waterfalls of "Princesa and Tampurok" as you climb the trails in Cabuyan and Kayasan.
