The only remaining structure
built under the super vision of Franciscans during the
latter part of the 18th century. Its was erected to help
guard the town against sea pirates. Location: town proper
of Gumaca, near the pier. How to get there: It is accessible
by private vehicles and buses, which service Gumaca and
the Bicol region. Upon arrival at the town proper (in
front of the town hall), one can take a walk to the fort.
Travel time: 4 hour drive from Manila.

lakes are the main sources of fresh fish like tilapia,
hito and dalag. Visitors can buy fresh fish at reasonable
prices.

Talabaan Islands are two
islands located off the shore of Padre Burgos town. The
bigger of the two, Malaking Talabaan, is a favorite jump-off
point to the beraches of Padre Burgos and the neighboring
town of Pagbilao. Situated along Laguimanoc Bay where
oyster culture is suitable. The smaller island Maliit
na Talabaan, is a rock formation jutting out of the sea.
What makes this island unique is that the rocks seem to
have been curiously arranged and piled. It also called
the vanishing islet during high tide it was submerged
in water.
